Pro-Hamas Rallies Threaten the United States National Security
Twenty-two years since the horrifying terror attacks in New York by Al-Qaeda, a recognized terrorist organization that resulted in the death of innocent civilians. Today, in 2023, the world faces an equally disturbing threat: A brutal attack on Israel's soil by HAMAS, a recognized Foreign Terrorist Group (FTO). These attacks were in a manner that degraded humanity on the face of the earth—attacking innocent civilians on Israel's soil, killing, kidnapping, assaulting, raping, and beheading, all regardless of their age or gender.
It is heart-wrenching to learn of the news of innocent civilians being brutally killed and watch videos and photos of beheaded babies and burnt bodies. This heinous act committed by extremists can only be defined as a terrorist attack landed ferociously out of hatred and cruelty towards unarmed civilians of a recognized State.
Pro-Hamas individuals have been rallying worldwide for the past few days, especially in the United States. In most places, there have been shameless actions from these groups towards other civilians. Pro-Hamas groups are celebrating the killing of innocent ordinary people. These groups have openly expressed their loyalty to a terrorist organization over their allegiance to the United States despite becoming American citizens. These developments raise a crucial question: Can we change the ideology of a terrorist even though they grew up in one of the most democratic countries in the world? These groups are openly celebrating the taking of innocent lives. Their actions show a complete disregard for sanctity of human existence. It raises concerns about the boundaries of freedom of speech and the intention of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Under 18 U.S.C. § 2339A, it is unlawful within the United States or for any person who is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States anywhere to knowingly provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization recognized by the Secretary of State – Antiterrorism Act. Those participating in these coldhearted rallies to support and cherish the terror attack by HAMAS, an FTO, not only are not condoning acts of terrorism but are also indirectly supporting HAMAS. This support poses a serious threat to national security. These individuals, if not participating directly by providing material support to HAMAS, definitely share the same dangerous, outrageous ideology that led to acts of terror.
If the United States government ignores addressing these pro-terrorist rallies, which glorify acts of terror openly and defy the laws of the land, it could pose a grave threat to the safety of American Citizens. The memories of 9/11 are still fresh in our minds, and we must NOT allow history to repeat itself.
By allowing these pro-Hamas, pro-terrorist rallies to continue, the U.S. government risks endangering American lives, undermining the principles of the United States Constitution, and disrespecting the very oath of allegiance that these individuals took. We must address this growing threat to our national security, ensuring that our values of freedom, justice, and security remain at the forefront of efforts to protect the well-being of all Americans.
